Jacob Gonzalez discovered his passion for performing at the age of eleven, inspired by his grandmother, who had been a performer herself. Theatre became his outlet, helping him break out of his shell and transforming him from a shy boy into a confident performer. From that moment on, Jacob knew that the stage was where he belonged.
He began his journey in children's and community theatre, eventually joining the West Orange High School Theatre Department, where he continued to develop his craft. Jacob later earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from the University of West Florida, taking on notable roles such as Will Bloom in Big Fish, Aldolpho in The Drowsy Chaperone, and Guido Contini in Nine. His dedication to his art also extends to voice training, having taken lessons for over five years.
In the summers of 2022 and 2023, Jacob performed at Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, Ohio, where he brought to life characters such as Professor Brady von Munch in Forbidden Frontier on Adventure Island (2022) and performed as a Baritenor in The Swelltones! (2023).
The summer of 2024, Jacob had the incredible opportunity to spend a month in London, workshopping and performing a musical adaptation of George Orwell's Animal Farm. Double cast as Snowball and Mr. Jones, he embraced the challenge of portraying two contrasting roles. Working alongside West End professionals, Jacob further honed his performance skills and gained invaluable experience in musical theater.
Now living in West New York, New Jersey, just across the Hudson from New York City, Jacob is actively pursuing his career as a performer. He prides himself on being a versatile artist, embracing his roles as a singer, actor, and mover. In his free time, he enjoys writing, recording his podcast "Heart: The State Within" with friends, and spending quality time with those close to him.
